Staff from both Step by Step Early Learning Center in Perryville and Beginnings Preschool in Morrilton have joined an essentially statewide training presented by Curricula Concepts. The Better Together Program is a nine-month learning collaborative working to improve practices and policies focused on nutrition, physical activity, breastfeeding support, family-style dining and reduced screen time for programs and families.

Step by Step Site Director Tracy Bull and Early Childhood Development Specialist Lindsey Hall
Lindsey Hall, Early Childhood Development Specialist for Step by Step Early Learning Center is part of the leadership team for the center and is already seeing how the program can support families in the community to make healthy choices. “The program shows that early education forms the foundation for our children and their families for healthy development and healthier lifestyles.”
The Better Together Program is affiliated with Go NAPSACC which encourages a farm to table effort from families alongside physical exercise and oral care to improve overall health of children from a young age.
Staff will share these resources not only with center staff, but also with families served by the centers and the communities of Morrilton and Perryville. Good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices are an important part of children reaching milestones and staying illness free, meaning less work missed by families and children often having a more content temperament.

Beginnings Early Childhood Development Specialist Stephanie Williams and Site Director Louise McCoy
Louise McCoy, Site Director for Beginnings Preschool also knows that play and fun are important to healthy lifestyles, “Our Leadership Team will learn best practices on how to build healthy eating habits and promote physical activities. We will pass these on to the children in a fun way that hopefully they will carry on and remember when they leave our program.”
Both facilities are currently enrolling children aged 6 weeks to Kindergarten who have a developmental delay or a medical condition which could lead to a delay.
