ACTION Services recently traveled to Vilonia and competed in the Spring Games for Special Olympics Area 17. Area 17 encompasses Pope, Perry, Conway, Faulkner, and Van Buren Counties. The consumers of ACTION Services showed off their athletic abilities and training in several track and field events such as 100 meter dash and softball throw. ACTION athletes were honored by Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer proclaiming Monday as ACTION Services Day, and KVOM 101.7 FM provided reporting of the competition on their Facebook page.
While all the athletes are champions, the following athletes received medals in their events: Lauren Brents*, Chasity Crafton*, Zyon Ausler-Ferguson, Virgil Toney*, Kyle Ostrowski,* Tori Hamm*, Icy Harper, Tionna Jackson (Miss T), Paige Bowen, Scott Hagans*, LaShawn Harper, Allison Ferguson, Jonathan Moellers*, Cody Davis, Cecilia DeSalvo, Randy Kemp, Christopher Lee*, Mikaila Petty, and Amber Raney. Athletes with an * denote those who qualified for State Special Olympics which will be held May 11-12 in Searcy.
